A genuine and passionate person, Amy likes to work with her clients to ensure that the piece she makes is right for them.
Combining a strong background in art and design with formal training in fine jewellery has helped to refine and define Amy's sense of style and strive for quality in craftsmanship.
A believer in continual growth and learning, Amy enjoys entering design awards, and exploring materials and processes. In addition to gold, silver, platinum and palladium, her work often makes use of aluminium, titanium, wood, and a variety of gemstones. She produces hand made items, and also makes use of model making and casting, and computer aided design (CAD).
Many of her designs are inspired by the materials themselves, particularly when it comes to gemstones, but often a piece of jewellery is a way for her to explore design concepts and motifs that attract her, from nature, from history, from architecture, from calligraphy. Texture, shape, and pattern are common fascinations for Amy. Being jewellery, functionality is always a consideration in the development of any design, and sometimes the area to be adorned is in itself the inspiration behind a piece.
Amy has completed a Diploma of Diamonds from the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) as part of her efforts to maintain and further her technical knowledge in order to be confident and trustworthy in helping her clients to find the right stone for them.(and because she loves to read about shiny things 😉)
